My dad and our beloved husbands set all us girls loose in NYC last fall. We hit the pavement hard (that is, while we waited for our Uber’s, all of us midwestern suburban mamas pretending like it’s magic). The fast paced world whirled around us but we all relished in the wonders of our long day-to-days in Mom life, sitting and waiting on other people. We sipped and shopped and talked all weekend long and came back charged up and ready for more of the soul nurturing day-in-and-outs. I stalked everybody for portrait poses with the old film camera because it seemed like a good amount of irony, taking such slow photos in such a fast city. And it’s only fitting we’re reaping the first peaks at them months later.
